    Straight answers

    Questions people type
    into a search box

How much is a game day at Predator Combat?
A walk-on with your own kit is £25, the same for a full day, a morning or an afternoon, and £25 for an evening. A rental package is £45 for the full day, £35 for a morning or an afternoon and £35 for an evening: Electric Gun 1:1 replica rifle, 3000rds Ammunition each, with full face protection for each rental player. Boot hire is £15 and we will ask for your size.
    How much is Nerf Wars?
£15 per participating player, from age 7, in sessions of ninety minutes. Ten players minimum and no real maximum. Nerf runs in its own part of the site, so it can run while an airsoft game day is on.
    What days do you run?
Every Saturday and Sunday are our regular game days. Walk-on gates open at 9:00 am, rental sign-in from 9:30 am, safety brief 10:15 am, afternoon games end at 4:30 pm. For group bookings of ten or more we can open other days, on a full day. An evening on a Saturday or Sunday takes any number.
What time does a game day run?
Gates open at 9:00 am and the shop at 9:30 am. Sign in and chrono 9:30 to 10:15 am, safety brief 10:15 am, morning games 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, lunch until 2:00 pm, afternoon games 2:00 to 4:30 pm.
    Is there a minimum age?
Airsoft is for players aged 12 and above. Nerf Wars are for ages 7 and above. Activate runs kids' outdoor activities and the Phoenix Program for young people.
    Can a complete beginner play?
Yes. Rental players get a rifle, full face protection and 3,000 rounds, a safety brief at 10:15 and marshals through the day. For younger warriors there are Nerf Wars.
    What should I wear?
Outdoor footwear is essential, and boot hire is £15 if you have nothing suitable: tell us your size when you book. Wear full length clothing, trousers, a jacket or a hoodie, both against BB hits and against the brambles, and bring waterproofs if rain is forecast. Rental players get full face protection.
What outdoor activities does Activate offer?
Rock climbing, hill and mountain walking, abseiling, archery, canoeing, kayaking, orienteering, adventure boot camps, bushcraft and survival skills, and kids' outdoor activities, for individuals and groups. Team building days and the Phoenix Program for young people run on the same site. Get in touch on 028 9756 5651 or info@activate-outdoor-adventure.com and we will build the day around your group.
    How many players per session?
There is no need to worry about places on a walk-on: the site is twenty two acres of woodland and has held two hundred players comfortably. Rental kit is the limit, so the booking page shows the rental places left on each session. Ten players is the minimum on any date that is not a regular Saturday or Sunday game day.
    What is the FPS limit?
328 fps for everything, rifle, DMR and sniper alike, measured on a 0.2 gram BB. That is the law in Northern Ireland rather than a rule of ours, so it applies at every site here. We ask for biodegradable BBs and sell them on site.
Can I bring pyro, smokes or grenades?
Reusable grenades are fine. Pyro bought on site is used on site: the law here is strict about carrying explosives, so anything unused comes back to us in its original condition for a refund. Blank firing caps are 9mm maximum, because 12 gauge is too powerful for the farmland around us. Anything else, ask us before the day and show it to the marshals when you arrive.
    How do I book?
Pick the day, walk-on or rental, then the session: a full day, a morning, an afternoon or an evening. Pay by card and the place is yours, with a calendar invite attached to your confirmation. For activities and team days call 028 9756 5651, email info@predator-combat.com or .
    Where is Predator Combat?
Predator Combat, Ballynahinch, BT24 8NF, thirty minutes from Belfast. Phone 028 9756 5651.
What does an activity day cost?
£30 a person for a morning or an afternoon, and £40 a person for a full day, whichever activities you pick. Everything is provided.
How many of us do you need?
Eight or more. Below that we cannot run a day, because an instructor is booked for the whole session. If there are fewer of you, ask us to ring you and we will see what we can do.
    Which days can we come?
Any day of the week. A full day runs 09:30 to 16:30, a morning 09:30 to 13:00 and an afternoon 13:30 to 16:30.
    How young can they be?
Four and over, with an adult alongside anyone under sixteen. Archery is ten and over, for the strength it takes.
What can we do in a day?
Up to four activities on a full day, two in the morning and two in the afternoon, or two on a half day. Climbing, abseiling, hill walking and canoeing take a whole session each, because we travel to them. Archery, bushcraft, kayaking and orienteering are on site, so they can be split.
What do we pay, and when?
A thirty per cent deposit when you book and the rest when you arrive. Cancel two weeks or more before the day and the deposit comes back in full. After that we have the staff booked, so it does not.
    What should we wear?
Outdoor clothes you do not mind getting wet or muddy, boots or trainers with a grip, and a waterproof if rain is forecast. We provide the rest: ropes, helmets, buoyancy aids, bows and boats.
Do you do corporate days and the Phoenix Program?
Yes, and both are built around what you need rather than sold by the session, so we price them with you. Ask us to ring you and we will talk it through.
